■Japan Glass Artcrafts Association was established in 1972 for the purpose of deepening the relationship between glass and people as well as to contribute the development and advancement of the glass art culture. Since1978, We consistently organized and held a series of exhibition entitled "Glass in Japan" once in every three years and unique and new works by the members of association were introduced and exhibited each time. The exhibition has been praised and admired for the quality of its contents in Japan and abroad and at the same time, it has introduced many excellent glass artists.

The l0th exhibition of this series, "Glass '05 in Japan" consists of art works by 97 members of our association, and its aim is to further development of contemporary glass art in Japan. This exhibition series has fascinated many visitors with its contents every time and this time, and is being held at the Tokyu Department Store Main store for the first time. We hope to draw more new visitors to the exhibition with this new venue. We also trust that this exhibition will be an excellent opportunity for satisfying the wonderful character of glass art to the viewer.

This is also the second time for us to hold this exhibition series at the Koganezaki Crystal Park Glass Museum. We trust that this touring exhibition will be an excellent opportunity to come in touch with the fascinating points of contemporary Glass art to the visitors to Nishi-Izu town from al1 over Japan and at the same time, we wish that this exhibition will become well known to the People in Japan. It is a great honor and pleasure for us, Contemporary Glass artists, to hold the touring exhibition at the Koganezaki Crystal Park Glass Museum where is a remarkable facility for the introduction of Japanese contemporary glass art to the world.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Asahi Glass Co., Ltd., for their support, as well as the Agency of Culture, the Nishi-Izu town, the Tokyu Department Store, the Glass manufacturer's Association of Japan, and al1 others who were concerned with this "Glass '05 in Japan" and for their understanding and cooperation to this project.
